The broker association has appointed Mark Windram to the newly created role of state manager for WA/SA/NT and Leah Renwick to the role of state manager for QLD/NSW/Vic/TAS, effective as of 30 March 2020.
The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) has announced it has created two new roles to its organisational structure.
The roles have been created by the FBAA in order to support the corporate function of the association as it continues to grow.
Speaking to The Adviser, the managing director of the FBAA, Peter White, outlined that the new state manager roles will “bring greater focus for the elected state presidents to be there for members, while the state managers will be more more focused on the corporate side of the association, including the business and partnerships side.”
He added that as Ms Renwick’s role as BDM has grown over the past few years as the association has grown, the FBAA was moving to split the role into two to “accommodate the needs of the business and to be able to support the staff and the members in a manner that we feel is appropriate”.

As such, Mr Windram has been appointed to the newly created role of state manager, covering the states of Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory.
The Western Australia-based manager has gained extensive knowledge in credit policy and customer service, having spent the last 14 years working at Keystart Home Loans as a broker relationships manager.
Mr Windram’s new role will particularly support the market in the regional and remote communities of Western Australia and NT.
Mr White stated the appointments aim to provide brokers with greater access to assistance and professional development, in the face of regulatory and compliance changes.
Welcoming Mr Windram to the association’s team, Mr White said: “Mark fits our requirement of ‘broker for broker’ through his extensive knowledge of both lender and broker businesses, and he understands what our members need.”
During his time at Keystart, Mr Windram also served as a councillor for the Town of Victoria Park in Western Australia for a four-year term, which Mr White said has helped him “understand the needs of a community – from individuals to large business”.
State manager QLD/NSW/Vic/TAS
As well as Mr Windram’s appointment, long-serving FBAA employee Ms Renwick has been made state manager for Queensland, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.
Ms Renwick, who has been with the FBAA for nearly 10 years, will be moving from her existing role of national business development and conference manager to state manager for QLD/NSW/Victoria/TAS this month.
In the new position, Ms Renwick will continue to be responsible for the FBAA conference and relationships in the east coast, representing the company at industry functions across the three states, including speaking engagements.
Mr White commented: “Leah has earned her stripes over the last nine-and-a-bit years that she’s been with the association. She’s highly committed to the industry, very passionate about the association and the value proposition that we deliver. She lives and breathes her work and she is a very valued part of the FBAA’s position in the marketplace.”
