The big four bank has signed on as the principal partner of The Adviser’s Business Accelerator Program, a business consultancy workshop for brokers, which starts next week.

The second annual consultancy workshop, starting next Tuesday, 20 August, will bring together leading industry specialists as they share their time-saving and cost-effective strategies for maximising efficiency.

Digital marketing profit strategist Greg Cassar, HR specialist Roland Youakim and technology specialist Andrew Duerden will join leading brokers to deliver hands-on advice on how to grow a mortgage broking business at this year’s Business Accelerator Program.

Targeting small-business owners and managers looking to grow their broking business and free up their time to focus on the big-ticket items, the business consultancy workshop focuses exclusively on brokerages and aims to help brokers elevate their business to the next level.

Westpac has now been announced as the principal partner of the Business Accelerator Program 2019.

The bank commented: “Westpac is proud to be the principal partner for The Adviser’s Business Accelerator Program 2019. We see this program as a great opportunity for industry leaders to enhance their skills and knowledge and learn industry best practice.

“The service that brokers provide is strongly valued by many of our customers, providing choice and independence, along with support.”

The bank said that investing in the broker channel, particularly around education, was a “priority” for Westpac and that it was “passionate about innovating to improve broker experience”.

“Our recognition of the importance of broker education is highlighted through our vast resources for training, education and business building,” the bank said.

For example, it highlighted that it had launched its Westpac Ideas Hub in 2017 to give brokers “24/7 access to information on products, processes and pain points and, of course, new ideas”, had a series of broker webinars hosted by its “experienced and knowledgeable BDMs” and now has more than 5,000 brokers engaging in its regular training program.

“Our support of the Business Accelerator Program aligns with our commitment to broker education.

“We believe this program is a unique and valuable experience for all broker business leaders,” it said.
