Major brokerage offers ‘guarantee’ to customers

A major brokerage has launched a new campaign that commits to providing customers with $100 if they don’t believe their appointment with their broker was “time well spent”.

Aussie Home Loans has launched a new, Worth Your While Guarantee” advertising campaign across various forms of media including radio, digital and social, as well as local area marketing collaterals around the country.

Running from 17 September to 30 November 2018, the campaign will "guarantee" $100 to new and existing customers who, after a full and free appointment with an Aussie broker, do not believe their time was well spent.

Aussie CEO James Symond, who is fronting an Aussie campaign for the first time, said that the campaign is an expression of confidence in the group’s broker network.

“For over a quarter of a century, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of Australians find a new or better deal on their home loan,” Mr Symond said.

“By putting our money where our mouth is, our new campaign confidently endorses our brokers and their ability to provide real value to their customers.

“Even in today’s digital world, nothing beats a quality, face-to-face conversation when you are talking about a big commitment like a home loan. If, after meeting with one of our brokers, a customer does not think it was time well spent, $100 is theirs.”

Mr Symond added that he is confident there will be “little take-up” of the guarantee.

“Stepping into our advertising and voicing this campaign for radio was a natural move. This is an important message to consumers, especially in today’s ever-changing lending environment,” the CEO said.

“We expect there will be little take-up of the guarantee, with our post-appointment net promoter scores averaging 9.4 out of 10 last financial year.

“We want more customers to experience the collective wisdom of our brokers, and this campaign will help to drive that.”

The move marks the latest consumer-facing campaign that aims to highlight the value of the broker proposition.

Earlier this year, the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia launched a national Your Broker Behind You campaign, while mortgage and loan insurance company ALI Group recently launched a radio campaign to “hero the mortgage broker”.
