Are you Australia's brightest broker?

by Reporter10 minute read

It’s that time of year again – the search for Australia’s brightest broker is on.

For the fifth year running, the St.George Banking Group Broker IQ quiz – an initiative of St George and The Adviser – will test brokers’ expertise on a range of topics, including products, finance and general industry knowledge.

As well as being crowned the brightest broker in Australia, the winner of Broker IQ will walk away with a handsome cash prize of $5,000.

Clive Kirkpatrick, St.George’s general manager of mortgage broking, said Broker IQ had become one of the industry’s most anticipated events.

“We’re excited to be once again sponsoring the fantastic Broker IQ. It’s a great way to bring brokers from across the whole industry together for some friendly competition – and we know brokers love a bit of competition,” he said.

“Broker IQ provides a great opportunity for brokers to show their knowledge on all things broking and the wider industry, and this year’s questions will be more varied, giving everyone a real shot at winning.

“Last year was a great success, with brokers still talking about it today. I know that this year will be even better with more challenging and interesting questions – I’d encourage everyone to get involved.”

Round one of Broker IQ consists of 20 multiple choice questions, and opened on 2 June. Brokers will be judged not only on the accuracy of their responses, but also on how quickly they can complete the questionnaire.

The brokers who complete the quiz most accurately and quickly will move through to round two.

The second round will narrow the field to just six brokers, who will then go head-to-head for the title of Australia’s brightest broker in front of more than 500 industry guests at the Australian Broking Awards luncheon on 31 July.
