It pays to educate clients

The current property market has high demand and low supply, leaving many buyers ready and willing but unable to make a purchase.

To assist these buyers, 1st Street Home Loans collaborated with Andrew Cooley from Cooley Auctions and Simon Cohen from Cohen Handler Buyer’s Agents to put on an informative home buyers seminar.

Over 100 prospective buyers attended the seminar to find out more about the buying process, from how to arrange a home loan, to the benefits of using a buyer’s agent, to understanding the auction and bidding process.

As 1st Street currently has many pre-approved clients, we felt it was worthwhile to provide them with further knowledge to improve their chances of purchasing a property. The seminar was a success, with attendees giving lots of good feedback.

It was a win-win for the seminar presenters, as we were able to further solidify relationships with potential clients and many clients went on to successfully purchase properties. For some clients, having a greater understanding of the auction process meant they could bid more strategically and confidently, resulting in them winning auctions. Other clients decided to use the services of a buyer’s agent, and they have successfully purchased properties despite the limited number available.

For brokers with a high volume of pre-approved clients, it is worth taking the time to assist them for their own benefit and to keep the brokerage processing loans. Whether it’s one-on-one or in a group session, clients appreciate it when brokers take extra time for them and go the extra mile.
