NAB seeks ABN AMRO acquisition

National Australia Bank (NAB) revealed today it is in discussions to purchase ABN AMRO Australia and New Zealand.

In an announcement to the ASX, the bank said it was engaged in a process with the Royal Bank of Scotland to acquire the bank.

“There can be no certainty that a transaction will result. Any potential transaction would be subject to due diligence and, ultimately, the receipt of all relevant regulatory approvals,” the statement said.
