How to build a leading broking business

Digital marketing profit strategist Greg Cassar, HR specialist Roland Youakim and technology specialist Andrew Duerden will join leading brokers to deliver hands-on advice on how to grow a mortgage broking business at this year’s Business Accelerator Program.

The Adviser’s Business Accelerator Program will visit Sydney (20 August), Melbourne (27 August) and Brisbane (29 August) to deliver a one-day practical workshop that will provide brokers with the tools and tips needed to handle high-volume business and expand their brokerages in an efficient, but sustainable, manner.

Targeting small-business owners and managers looking to grow their broking business and free up their time to focus on the big-ticket items, the business consultancy workshop focused exclusively on brokerages’ aims to help brokers elevate their business to the next level.

The second annual consultancy workshop will bring together leading industry specialists as they share their time-saving and cost-effective strategies for maximising efficiency.

High-volume processing

Brokers will learn how to gear their business for growth and create the perfect framework for upscaling and elite broker Ross le Quesne, principal at Aussie Parramatta and Rouse Hill, will provide his firsthand experience of perfecting the loan writing process to handle high-volume business.*

Outsourcing

Building on this, Andrew Duerden, director of business services at technology specialist Loanworks, will provide his insights into when and what to outsource and his top tips for processing and loan origination.

Meanwhile, leading brokers such as Jeremy Fisher of 1st Street Financial (NSW), Andrew Mirams of Intuitive Finance (Vic) and Chris Wilson, Lending Specialist, Sunshine Coast Financial Solutions (QLD) will relay how they have identified the things they need to keep in house and what to offload.

Hiring and retaining staff

A major part of growing a broking business is hiring (and retaining) the right staff. Brokers will learn the top techniques for sourcing and recruiting new talent and attracting the people they most want in Roland Youakim’s sessions on building an attraction brokerage. The managing director of mortgage broker recruitment specialist, Platinum People Group, will also outline how brokers can create a culture built for sustained success and keep employees happy in the long term.

Lead generation

In the afternoon, Greg Cassar, the founder of digital marketing strategy company The Collective will provide practical strategies and changes brokers can adopt to take their brokerage to the next level.

Mr Cassar is in the top 1 per cent of marketers in the country, having worked with more than 300 businesses and driven over 2 million leads. Drawing on his experience and know-how, Mr Cassar will outline the step-by-step process of turning websites into “lead-capturing machines” and understanding how to make the most of their SEO and Google rankings.

Social media marketing

Mr Cassar’s second session of the day will uncover the secrets to building trust and authority through social media and gaining traffic from Facebook and Instagram in a bid to help broking firms expand and manage their growing businesses.
