Citi reconfirms regional potential

Despite being seen as a thoroughly metropolitan lender catering to affluent and emerging-affluent individuals, Citi has reconfirmed that it can lend to the regional market.

“Traditionally, Citi is a metropolitan player,” Aaron Milburn, head of broker distribution at Citi, told The Adviser. “However, that's not to say we don't lend in regional areas… I've recently been out in regional markets with brokers and looking for ways to further support them.

“While I was there, I looked at the last five deals that brokers had transacted and four of them could've been through Citi.”

“Citi's brand really speaks to the affluent and emerging-affluent clients, and they're not all based in metro centres. We have clientele spread across the country.

“It's getting people to know that we do provide a fantastic product suite for regionally-based brokers to enable their clients to further their portfolios.”
