American television channel CNBC reported that US Citigroup is considering a 5-10 per cent cutback of its workforce, according to Reuters. With a total workforce of 327,000 this could result in redundancies of up to 32,700.
CNBC said the announcement of any redundancies will likely come later this month with the company’s release of its quarterly earnings.
