Surging rents will swallow tax cuts

Low vacancy rates and housing affordability issues will see the Federal government’s promised tax cuts eaten by spiraling rent, warns The Australian.

Industry commentator Michael Matusik said rents were expected to rise rapidly until 2010, cancelling out the effects of any tax cuts.
