Switchers catch better deals

A national survey conducted by the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) and BankWest Home Finance has shown that borrowers who refinance, and especially those who changed lender, typically got better deals.

Of the 814 borrowers surveyed who chose to refinance, price was the key motivational factor. Terms and conditions, lower interest rates and lower fees were also cited as reasons to refinance.
