6 golden rules to implement in your business

To Celebrate International Women’s Day Victoria Coster Founder of Credit Fix Solutions shares how she has made her business a success and six of her golden rules that you should implement in your business.

We’ve all had hard times, and some of us are going through them now. I started my credit repair business out of my son’s bedroom while living in housing commission. I tell my story in the hope that it inspires others to set up their own business. I learned a lot in the first 12 months of my business. I still learn every day but nine years on I have some golden rules of business that I think everyone should know.

 # 1 rule in business

Bring your BHAG!  Big Hairy Audacious Goals – have you created a vision board? A vision board is all about sharing images, pictures, sayings and affirmations of your dreams and goals. It can change, be added to, but most of all it is a focal point and reminder of what you are trying to achieve. The most inspiring thing on my vision board at the moment is architectural drawings of my very own forever home that we are about to build. I look at it every day and it inspires me to focus on work and having a positive day.

#2 Build a brand that shifts the market… BE exciting… Build to create IMPACT. Then tie this in with your mantra:

  • Tagline – Does your tagline for your business create impact?
  • Pitch – genuine – how do you add value?
  • Brand Promise
  • Code of Ethics
  • Core Purpose
  • Core Values – Our core values at Credit fix Solutions are Help Learn Grow.

If you haven’t already, book in a planning and review session of your business every 90 days. Look at your tagline, think about your 60 second pitch, what does your marketing look like? Are there some things you can work on over the next 90 days to improve your business?

#3 Standout through all vehicles including marketing, sales, presentations and social media BUT REMEMBER…if any of you are perfectionists like me… It’s better done than perfect! This means don’t just talk about it do it!

#4… Marketing: Use your 'Why' not 'What' or 'How'

When marketing what your business has to offer it’s important to differentiate yourself from the pack. A good example is the stock standard – “I can get you a great rate on your next home loan” It doesn’t link to gold rule #2 BE exciting Build to create IMPACT. Instead you could market yourself by saying “I help people into their homes because creating wealth for your family is my passion.”

#5 Treat every customer like they are the only customer you will ever have.

Everyone wants to feel special. Give them your full attention whenever you are speaking with them. Go above and beyond at every opportunity and do the best deal you can. Be prompt and attentive. Don’t leave people hanging.

FINALLY

#6 Know what drives you. Be YOURSELF and prove the world wrong…I did it… and you can too!!

Happy International Women’s Day and wishing you all the success and #impact!!
