Mortgage brokers from Aussie will offer expert advice to aspiring home buyers on TV when House Hunters Australia premieres later this week.
Brokers and buyer’s agents operating under the Aussie brand will feature on the House Hunters Australia TV show when it premieres on Network 10 on Sunday (11 May), as part of the major brokerage’s official sponsorship of the show.
The reality TV show follows families on their home buying journeys as they’re assisted by real estate agents in finding their dream home.
House Hunters Australia will integrate Aussie services into the show and will include 60-second “break engagers” featuring real Aussie brokers - including Aussie mobile broker Sam Harvey - walking through loan options with clients and Aussie buyer’s agents finding them properties, alongside partner real estate agents.
According to Lendi Group CEO David Hyman, the sponsorship aims to help embed the new vision of Aussie as a property ecosystem (using its new find, buy, own tagline) and create an emotional connection to the revamped brand.
Emily Lonsdale, general manager of growth at Lendi Group (which operates Aussie), said the partnership comes at a pivotal moment.
“The property journey in Australia can be challenging, but it also is a really exciting time for people, and we feel really proud to have played a role in that process for 33 years,” she said.
“As our proposition evolves from mortgage broker to an integrated property ecosystem, we need to bring Australians on that journey and show them we’re in their corner in new ways – and at every step.
“House Hunters Australia is the perfect platform to bring this brand evolution to life – to show the real value we can deliver for customers by empowering them with sophisticated market analysis and property search, through to professional mortgage broking and quick conveyancing – all under one roof.”
Aussie plans to build on its investment in House Hunters Australia through a digital content hub – connecting the show’s audience to practical home ownership insights inspired by each weekly episode.
Michael Stanford, head of Paramount ANZ Brand Studio, said the broadcaster was thrilled to welcome Aussie as the official sponsor for the show.
“Australia’s obsession with property runs deep – and House Hunters Australia taps into this beautifully,” he said.
“The series is so entertaining and engaging, taking viewers along for the ride as home buyers dive headfirst into the chaos of finding their dream home with all the emotions, fiery opinions and laughs along the way.
“Aussie is such an authentic and ideal partner for the show as they are a major force in the property market offering a range of premium products and services for home buyers, just like those we see in the show.”
The premiere of House Hunters Australia will air at 8:15pm on Sunday (11 May), straight after MasterChef Australia, and then weekly every Friday from 16 May at 7:30pm on 10 and 10 Play.
‘One-stop shop’ for home buying
In March, Lendi Group – the parent company of mortgage brokers Aussie and Lendi – revealed that Aussie was pivoting from a linear mortgage broking business to a platform that helps Australians ‘find, buy and own’ property.
Over the past year, Aussie has been rolling out new offerings and functionalities to its core broker offering, such as conveyancing services (launched in partnership with e-conveyancing provider Settle Easy) to support clients with live tracking in the settlement process.
It also launched an in-house buyer’s agents service (Aussie Buyer’s Agents) and this week launched Aussie for Agents – a new platform that gives buyers and real estate agents a way to market listings to millions of buyers and vendors.
Aussie for Agents offers unlimited free listings across off-market, pre-market, and on-market properties, including auctions, with no vendor-paid advertising (VPA) costs.
A search experience to enable customers to search these listings – called Aussie Homes – is expected to launch next quarter.
Aussie for Agents will also provide agents with referral partnerships to Aussie brokers.
Speaking of the launch of Aussie for Agents, Sebastian Watkins, co-founder of Lendi Group, said: “We built Aussie for Agents with a simple idea – better outcomes for customers and agents. Because Aussie is already helping so many Australians with their home buying journey every month, we don’t need to make money from listings. Our model will be VPA free forever.
“Our move to a property ecosystem is about bringing that same fair go approach to searching and buying. It’s a powerful step-change.”
The general manager of agent services, Rhett Dallwitz, said that the move means agents can tap directly into a highly engaged audience with an established brand.
“We’ve built Aussie for Agents from the ground up to help agents earn more and customers pay less,” he said.
“Our focus is on giving agents a competitive edge: quality vendor and buyer opportunities, powerful listing exposure, and a genuine alternative to traditional advertising without the hefty price tag.
“Together, we can help more Australians buy and sell property and put more money back in the pockets of both customers and agents.”
