Finalists revealed for Better Business Awards 2022

The Adviser is pleased to reveal the finalists for the state-based Better Business Awards 2022, with 623 finalists competing for the prestigious awards.

With the support of principal partner NAB, the Better Business Awards recognises the leading members of Australia’s mortgage broking and finance industry.

Since 2014, the benchmark awards program for excellence has acknowledged the efforts of Australia’s brokers, aggregators, BDMs, innovators and leaders.

The 9th annual awards will celebrate the individuals and businesses from each state and territory within Australia who are leading the way by providing the best customer service and outcomes, leading community engagement programs, writing significant loan volumes, and implementing robust business strategies.

It will also give a nod to mentors and thought leaders in the broking sector for their commitment to excellence and willingness to share their knowledge with their peers, while recognising the rising stars of tomorrow.

The Better Business Awards 2022 rewards high-achieving individuals and offices in the broking industry who have carved out a local presence in NSW/ACT, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory, Victoria/Tasmania, and Western Australia.

More than 623 top-performing finalists have been chosen for the 19 submission-based categories for the Better Business Awards 2022.

Commenting on the awards program, Momentum Media’s editor of mortgages Annie Kane said: “The Better Business Awards seek to champion the leading players of the broking industry in each state and territory of Australia – showcasing their hard work and congratulating them for going above and beyond for their clients.

“Whether it was enabling first home buyers to get onto market for the first time, supporting borrowers access COVID or disaster support, helping businesses access finance to pivot and thrive, or just being a sounding board for credit advice – brokers have been hard at work to keep this economy turning.

With the residential and commercial mortgages market continuing to break records, the broking industry has been busier than ever to help Australian borrowers realise their dreams and set them up for future success. Given the increasing uncertainty around the future of interest rates, changing lender policy, the huge range of options on market and the fact that mortgage brokers act in the best interests of their clients – more borrowers have been flocking to the brokers than ever before.

“Here at The Adviser, we’re proud to be able to showcase their achievements through these five state-based awards.”

The winners of the Better Business Awards 2022 will be announced at an in-person gala dinner during the five-state roadshow. The awards will take place in the following locations:

  • Queensland: 28 April – Sofitel Brisbane Central
  • NSW/ACT:  5 May – Australian Turf Club, Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney
  • South Australia/Northern Territory: 12 May – Adelaide Convention Centre
  • Western Australia: 19 May – Crown Towers Perth
  • Victoria/Tasmania: 2 June – Crown Towers Melbourne

The Better Business Awards will follow the award-winning event, the Better Business Summit 2022.

Centred on the “Digital Broker”, the summit will present 15 TED-talk-style presentations to reveal the technological tools of the future that could propel brokerages by streamlining services and building business efficiencies.

Across the five states, speakers will equip new and established brokers with the tools and knowledge they need to boost lead generation techniques and offer a deeper understanding of the digital applications that other brokerages have been using successfully.

TV and film producer Maz Farrelly and Major General (Ret’d) Dr Marcus Thompson AM are among this year’s keynote speakers, who will arm brokers with the marketing tools they need to generate a return on investment while protecting their brokerages from any cyber threats lurking in the shadows.
