Bendigo rolls out ‘virtual banker’ support for brokers

A team of 50 personal bankers and home lending specialists is now offering brokers and their customers support on the home loan journey.

Non-major lender Bendigo Bank has rolled out a new team of ‘virtual bankers’ to support brokers and their clients with their banking and mortgage needs.

The virtual banking team – now in operation – has been formed to support broker clients with onboarding and to support future banking and lending needs.

The aim of the team is to work “as an extension of the broker’s team” and free up broker time in answering specific Bendigo Bank customer questions by taking on the administrative tasks that might otherwise take up time in a broker’s day.

That way, brokers don’t have to ask the next step or what customer has to do next with their Bendigo loan, and so the broker can “feel comfortable in knowing that the customer is in good hands”, the bank said.

Bendigo Bank said the virtual banking team would “help to simplify the lending process, save valuable time for brokers, and nurture long-term customer relationships”.

Head of broker at Bendigo Bank, Natalie Sheehan, said the move was “already giving brokers more time to focus on their businesses, ultimately improving the customer experience”.

“By providing responsive support, our Virtual Banking Team is ensuring customers are in safe hands from application through to settlement, strengthening the trust and relationships brokers have built,” she said.

“We are offering brokers an extra set of hands to help empower them to focus on business growth while we ensure their customers receive the exceptional support they deserve throughout the home loan journey.

“While offering friendly and knowledgeable guidance, the bank’s new Virtual Banking Team is streamlining processes, and providing direct, ongoing support to customers for future lending needs, such as loan variations and new splits.”

You can find out more about Bendigo Bank’s virtual banking team at the New Broker Academy 2026.

Supported by principal partner Bendigo Bank, this free-to-attend roadshow is designed to give prospective and new brokers a complete blueprint for business success.

The academy roadshow will hit the following cities over the coming month:
