Heritage appoints new BDM

The non-major bank has announced the appointment of an experienced BDM to support its broker services in NSW and ACT.

Heritage Bank has announced the appointment of Chris Franze as its newest business development manager (BDM) for NSW and ACT.

Mr Franze has over 14 years of experience in the banking industry and joins Heritage from Bank of Queensland, where he also served as a BDM.

He also held a variety of managerial roles at other institutions, including NAB and Newcastle Permanent Building Society.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Franze said he was excited to explore new opportunities with Heritage and work in the customer-owned sector.

“Working with an organisation that has a great culture is really important to me, and it’s well known that Heritage has this in spades,” Mr Franze said.

“As a mutual, Heritage is passionate about putting the needs of their customers first. They recognise the instrumental part brokers play in helping drive growth outside their branch footprint and are continually investing in their broker services.

“I’m passionate about providing quality service experiences to our broker partners and look forward to building relationships to support Heritage Bank moving forward.”

Head of broker distribution Stewart Saunders welcomed Mr Franze to his new role and noted the bank’s commitment to supporting mortgage brokers around the country.

“As one of the first mutual banks to actively work with brokers, we pride ourselves on delivering authentic customer experiences,” Mr Saunders said.

“We’re committed to improving our broker service capabilities, and this is reflected in our growing BDM team and pilot expansion into the commercial broker market.

“We’ve also invested in improving our range of digital tools through our upfront valuation portal and new online live serviceability calculator,” he said.

Mr Saunders concluded: “We’re thrilled to have Chris on the team; his passion and experience will further support the ‘people first’ proposition we offer our brokers and customers.”
