NSW broking industry celebrated

The leading brokers, business development managers and support staff in NSW have been recognised at the Better Business Awards 2019 in Sydney.

The Better Business Awards, which honours the best brokers, aggregator BDMs, lender BDMs, loan administrators and those supporting brokers, were held last night (7 March) at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney.

Following the Better Business Summit 2019, hosted in partnership with principal partner NAB, the awards saw brokers from across the state recognised for their hard work and dedication to delivering good consumer outcomes.

Daniel O’Brien, broker and owner of PFS Financial Services, was named NSW’s Best Residential Broker and Broker of the Year at last night’s event.

PFS Financial Services completed the hat trick by also taking home the award for Best Customer Service (Office).

Another multi-award winner on the night was Central Coast brokerage Sphere Finance, whose director Jarred Spurr was named Best Regional Broker while the office picked up the trophy for Best Independent Office (5 brokers or less).

In the Best Regional Office category, Aussie Toukley beat out the competition to take out the win.

The Best Finance Broker award went to Tony Bice from Finance Made Easy, while Kathy Dundas from No Fuss Home Loans was recognised for her work in the Best Customer Service (Individual) category.

Jordan Beh from Insight Property Finance was honoured as the state’s Best Newcomer 2019 and Brad East from Wisebuy Investment Group was celebrated as NSW’s Rising Star.

Growing brokerage Shore Financial was named as the Best Independent Office (more than 5 brokers) once again while Best New Office went to Simplicity Loans & Advisory.

Brokers were also praised during the evening for their charitable and community centric activities, with the team at Keystone Financial being celebrated for their work via the Best Community Engagement Program.

Richard Hewitt from Nimbus Broking took home the Editor’s Choice award in recognition of his dedication to his agribusiness clients and providing financial education to them for their specific needs.

In honour of her work in mentoring others, finance broker and mentor Nancy Youssef from Classic Finance and Mentoring was crowned the state’s Mentor of the Year 2019.

The Better Business Awards NSW also celebrated the BDMs and loan administrators that support brokers on a daily basis.

The Best Loan Administrator award was won by Angela Xiao from Option Finance for her work in servicing broker loans.

Connective’s James Brett won the Best Aggregator BDM award, while in the lending capacity, Rosa Primerano from NAB was named Best Lender BDM (Bank) and Drew Clegg from Pepper Money won the same award in the non-bank category.

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!

Better Business Summit 2019

Now in its sixth consecutive year, the Better Business Awards follows the award-winning Better Business Summit.

The Better Business Summit first launched in 2013 as a state-based event to provide brokers with straight-talking, practical advice to help them grow and improve their businesses.

It was the first state-based awards program to recognise and celebrate the best in the industry in their local markets.

The Better Business Summit has won multiple awards and has grown exponentially over the years to become the industry’s leading event, and now welcomes more than 4,500 attendees every year.

The roadshow will conclude in Perth on the 14th of March.
