Major brokerage Entourage has acquired Loan Market Geelong from Sarah Thomson, expanding the Entourage brand to Geelong.
Damien Roylance’s broking business, Entourage, has acquired Loan Market Geelong, the major Loan Market franchise headed up by elite broker Sarah Thomson.
The deal, which has been in the works since late 2025, completed earlier this year for an undisclosed sum.
Entourage, which aggregates under Loan Market Group, has taken on the 11-person team and $1 billion-plus loan book and will see Loan Market Geelong City become part of the Entourage brand (Entourage Geelong).
Thomson – principal broker at Loan Market Geelong – will continue to operate as a broker at Entourage Geelong and help manage the clients at the brokerage, with Entourage taking on the business operations and management.
Speaking to The Adviser about the acquisition, Roylance said: “Sarah and I have known each other for a long time, and I’ve always had enormous respect for what she’s built in Geelong and the way she’s gone about it. She’s created one of Victoria’s most respected brokerages and has earned every bit of that reputation.
“When Sarah started thinking about the next chapter for the business, we had some honest conversations about what that could look like. From the outset, it felt like a natural fit because we share the same values, put clients first and genuinely care about our people.
“I’m incredibly honoured that Sarah chose Entourage to continue the legacy she’s built, and even more excited that she’ll remain part of the business. Having the opportunity to work alongside someone I’ve admired professionally for so many years is something I’m genuinely looking forward to.”
Thomson told The Adviser that the decision to merge came as she wanted to take a step back from running the brokerage business to focus on broking and less on operational management.
The move means that Entourage now has offices in Mornington, Geelong, Brisbane, and Byron Bay. It comes after several acquisitions by Entourage over the past few years, after it acquired Logical Choice Finance, Clover Financial, Odyssey Financial, and Marshall Condon’s brokerage, Neue Black Finance, in 2019.
Indeed, the merger comes amid ongoing consolidation in the broking industry. Broking groups, such as Empower Wealth and Flint, have been merging or acquiring broking businesses, while aggregators such as AFG recently announced it would start taking equity stakes in brokerages.
Other moves include Capita Finance Solutions (Capita Finance), which recently changed ownership as a group of its brokers acquired the company from property agency Realmark Group (with a minority investment from ASX-listed aggregator Australian Finance Group [AFG]), while residential mortgage group Recludo earlier this year acquired a 51 per cent stake in Victoria-based financial services firm My Expert, extending its national expansion strategy.
