Why this broker is working for change

Loan Market broker Stephen O’Reilly-Nugent joins host Annie Kane to discuss how he’s operating his growing brokerage in Victoria and why he thinks giving back is an important role for brokers.

As well as operating a brokerage, Stephen is also the founder and member of a relatively new community brokerage service, Brokers for Change. A social enterprise created for brokers that want to make a financial impact in their community, members of Brokers for Change donate 20 per cent of their commission to help the homeless in Australia.

He also shares:

  • How a bad home loan experience led him to become a broker
  • His thoughts on the ASIC shadow shopping exercise findings
  • Why he set up Brokers 4 Change and what it hopes to achieve
