NSW’s best brokers revealed!

The best brokers in New South Wales have been named and honoured at The Adviser’s Better Business Awards in Sydney.

The Better Business Awards — which celebrates the state’s best brokers, aggregator BDMs, lender BDMs, loan administrators and those running community engagement programs — was held last night (8 March) at the Hyatt Regency in Darling Harbour.

Following the Better Business Summit 2018, hosted in partnership with principal partner NAB, the awards saw brokers from across the state recognised for their hard work and dedication to delivering good consumer outcomes.

Alex Veljancevski from Eventus Financial was named NSW’s Best Newcomer as well as the Broker of the Year at last night’s awards.

The judges praised Mr Veljancevski as a “motivated individual who has applied himself fully to becoming a premium-quality broker”.

The broker, who has been broking for three years, was also commended for his ethical and diligent approach to broking, which was recognised in testimonials from his clients.

Justin Doobov of Intelligence Finance was named Best Finance Broker in the state at last night’s awards ceremony. He has now taken the award home for the past three years running.

Meanwhile, George Giovas from Axius Partners won the award for Best Commercial Broker.

The award for Best Residential Broker went to Daniel Pym from Loan Market Double Bay, who was particularly recognised for his customer service and business strategy.

Mr Pym doubled his business’ volume in the last year while increasing his Net Promoter Score, and he recently became a Justice of the Peace to facilitate document signing, in a bid to save clients’ time and reduce errors and rework.

Zac Peteh at Mint Equity (Somersby) was named Best Regional Broker on the night, while Fife (Goulburn) took out the award for Best Regional Office.

Zippy Financial Group’s Louisa Sanghera was named Rising Star, and the office was also honoured for running the Best Community Engagement Program for Ms Sanghera’s business network and small business forum Connect for Success.

Yellow Brick Road (Dee Why) was recognised for its work with the award for Best Branded Office. Shore Financial was named NSW’s Best Independent Office (five or more brokers) and Bayside Residential & Commercial Mortgages took home Best Independent Office (less than five brokers).

When it came to customer service, Elizabeth Wilson of Wilson Financial was named as the broker with the Best Customer Service, while VIP Mortgage Solutions (Sydney CBD) took home the same award for the office category.

Megan Byrne at PFS Financial Services won the award for Best Loan Administrator (NSW & ACT).

Aaron Christie-David from Atelier Wealth was honoured for his service to the industry through the Editor’s Choice award.

Atelier Wealth’s managing director and finance broker was chosen as the winner of the Editor’s Choice for not only growing the business year on year, but also for being a public advocate for the broking profession and giving back to the community by helping new brokers.

BDMs from AFG, ME Bank and Moula were also awarded for their work in supporting brokers.

The full list of NSW’s winners is available online now.

Congratulations to all the winners!

Better Business Summit 2018

Now in its fifth consecutive year, the Better Business Awards forms part of the award-winning Better Business Summit.

The Better Business Summit first launched in 2013 as a state-based event to provide brokers with straight-talking, practical advice to help them grow and improve their businesses.

It was the first state-based awards program to recognise and celebrate the best in the industry in their local markets.

The Better Business Summit has won multiple awards and has grown exponentially over the years to become the industry’s leading event, and now welcomes more than 4,500 attendees every year.

The Better Business Summit and Better Business Awards will visit Perth next Thursday, 15 March.
