The leading members of the broking industry in NSW and ACT will be unveiled on 29 September, as the Better Business Awards 2021 takes place via live stream!
After carefully assessing the COVID-19 situation and in accordance with the current lockdown restrictions in place, the Better Business Awards NSW/ACT will now be delivered by live stream*.
The final leg of The Adviser’s eighth annual Better Business Awards, run in partnership with NAB, will take place online at 6pm AEST on Wednesday, 29 September.
More than 150 finalists across NSW and the ACT will battle it out for the 21 awards, which include the individual awards of:
The Broker of the Year, Editor’s Choice, and group awards will also be unveiled on the night.
With live-crosses to winners and entertainment from Bob Downe (actor and broadcaster Mark Trevorrow), the Better Business Awards NSW/ACT will bring the excitement and fanfare of the evening straight to your homes as we look to recognise the achievements of talented professionals leading the way.
Speaking of the move to a live-stream awards, editor of The Adviser, Annie Kane, commented: “As Sydney continues into its third month of lockdown and the ACT grapples with its own outbreak, there is no better time to be able to have something to look forward to.
“Along with our principal partner, NAB, we’re committed to continuing to champion the hard work of this industry and acknowledge the leading players in NSW and the ACT.
“Now, more than ever, I think we could all do with some celebration. So, whether you choose to watch from home, from the office, or while picnicking in the park (if you’re one of the lucky few who can!), we look forward to coming together to celebrate in each other’s success.
“We hope to see you there!”
Registration is free for the live broadcast.
Better Business Summit Sydney – postponed to December
The Sydney Better Business Summit will be held as an in-person conference on Tuesday, 14 December.
Themed “Better Connected”, over the course of the conference, brokers will hear inspiring stories of resilience and fortitude – with keynote speakers Saroo Brierley telling his incredible and moving story of reconnecting with his biological family in India (on which the movie Lion is based), and Thankyou founder Daniel Flynn demonstrating how perseverance and passion can effect change and turn the business-as-usual model on its head.
As well as providing inspirational and thought-leadership content, the summit will be packed with professional development content.
Broker referral partners (estate agents, buyers agents and accountants) will showcase the key trends they’re seeing in the home-buying journey, and what they most want from their brokers to maximise strategic partnerships.
Local elite brokers will also uncover how they got to where they are now, their tips for success and what they think of the current market.
The Better Business Summit also takes into consideration the importance of wellness when running a small business, particularly in a COVID-19 environment. Performance and wellness coaches will outline techniques to help brokers connect with their wellbeing so that they can ensure they can outperform competition, engage their intuition, and detox their day for improved work/life balance and increased professional performance.

*The Better Business Awards 2021 NSW/ACT was originally scheduled to take place on 24 June 2021 as an in-person awards ceremony, but was postponed to 29 September once the NSW government announced movement restrictions to curb the spread of Delta outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.
Given the continuing lockdown in both NSW and the ACT, Momentum Media will continue to recognise the achievements of talented brokers in 2021 with a live broadcast of the awards.
Ticket holders will be automatically registered for the live stream, with a credit note issued that can be used for future events for The Adviser.
The winners of the Better Business Awards for Vic/Tas, Qld, WA and SA/NT have already been announced.
