MyState names marketing, comms manager

MyState Bank has appointed a new marketing manager to oversee broker communications.

Neville Anitelea has taken the role of senior manager, marketing and communications – partnerships, after being general manager of marketing at Motor Traders’ Association of NSW.

MyState has tasked Mr Anitelea with further developing its relationship with industry partners, with a particular focus on the broker division.

Tasmania-based MyState noted that it is also seeking to increase its presence in mainland Australia, particularly across the eastern seaboard.

Previously, Mr Anitelea worked with Westpac for more than 11 years as national manager of marketing and communications for both its consumer mortgage and business broker distribution divisions, as well as the group’s broker academy.

He has also held senior marketing positions as manager of brand and campaigns at Pepper Homeloans, marketing and communications consultant with AMP and group brand account director at WPP AUNZ.

Huw Bough, MyState general manager, banking, commented that Mr Anitelea will be joining the team as the bank accelerates its growth strategy within the broker channel.

“As we embark on this next chapter of growth, we recognise that the strength of our customer experience, brand and deliver of quality customer-driven activities to our broker channels will be key factors in our success,” Mr Bough said.

“Neville brings an extraordinary breadth of experience to our business and broker channel, with a deep understanding and appreciation for customer delivery and stakeholder engagement.”

Mr Anitelea added: “As I move forward, my focus will be on listening to the voices of those in the broker community, identifying channels of engagement and creating compelling initiatives that reflect our community needs.”

Mr Bough was also appointed to the banking general manager role in mid-June, returning to the bank after two years.

He was previously group general manager of retail banking, business banking and broker.

In the new post, Mr Bough has been tasked with building growth in the retail banking and broker divisions.
