Broker head leaves bank to launch consultancy business

Michael Trencher, the head of broker distribution at Heritage Bank, has left the bank to set up his own coaching and consultancy firm.

Mr Trencher left his role on Friday, 3 August.

In an update to brokers, Heritage Bank’s chief customer officer, Kevin Potter, said: “Michael has made a strong contribution during his time with Heritage, strengthening broker relationships and creating greater awareness of Heritage in the marketplace.

“I wish Michael all the very best, and thank him for all that he has done for Heritage. We will be advertising for a replacement immediately.”

While the bank looks for a replacement, the bank’s head of branch network, David Ure, will act as head of broker distribution.

“As many of you would know, David has previously held the head of broker distribution role on a full-time basis and has a detailed understanding of the broker sector,” Mr Potter said.

Mr Trencher first joined the non-major lender in 2016 to drive growth through the third-party channel.

The former broker has more than 15 years of achievement in the strategic leadership of national distribution teams and before joining Heritage was national manager partnerships of the NAB Broker business. Prior to that, he held senior roles at ANZ and Mortgage Choice, as well as formerly operated his own broker franchise business.
