Lend welcomes new head of broker & 3rd-party distribution

SME fintech Lend has welcomed Andrew Beckett to its strategic leadership team as head of broker and third-party distribution.

The former senior business development manager (BDM) at SME lender Lumi, Andrew Beckett, has officially started his new position as head of broker and third-party distribution at Lend.com.au (Lend).

Mr Beckett had been working in the role alongside the former head of third-party Donelle Brooks for the past few weeks as she handed over the reins before her departure to Earlypay.

He will now be fully responsible for supporting brokers in their journey to diversify into commercial lending, extending the platform’s commercial finance offering, and being the primary point of contact for industry, affiliates, and working capital lenders.

Speaking of Mr Beckett’s appointment and inclusion to the fintech’s strategic leadership team, the chief executive of Lend, Bill Baker, commented: “There’s a consistent spotlight on how critical it is for SMEs to be able to access funds quickly, particularly when there’s market turbulence. This demand aligns with Lend’s core ethos of removing barriers to business funding via a commercial finance hub that can holistically service all business funding needs.

We’re confident that Andrew’s appointment will help support this vision.”

Originally from the UK, Mr Beckett has wide-ranging industry experience in various sales and strategic roles with Lumi, Iron Capital, Shift (formerly known as GetCapital), and American Express.

Mr Beckett said: “I always like to work with disruptive companies – and Lend ticks that box in a big way! In particular, I’m a massive fan of how Lend’s product-lender match technology supports brokers to diversify, scale, and future-proof their business.

“Ultimately, my number one goal is to make Lend a household name within the broker community. I’m looking forward to having a lot of broker interface to help with this journey.”

In his new position, Mr Beckett will also work closely with Andrew Moulds, head of asset finance at Lend, to deliver the company’s LendEd broker educational program.

The fintech recently extended its Insights education series to include podcasts, commuter learning program, and enhanced turnkey library of online resources.

“Following a recent educational audit, the program has been modified to support accepted adult learning principles and now accommodates different learning styles to optimise retention, Mr Moulds said.

This now includes a more diverse mix of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modules.

“In addition, the Lend dashboard has undergone extensive upgrades that enable deeper customer insights and enhanced key performance indicators that help identify top-performing industries, locations, customer types, and purpose performs better. Such multidimensional insights are invaluable to help guide brokers’ efforts and opportunity to cross-sell – and such, move toward the preferred state of being a holistic solutions provider and owning ‘whole of wallet.’”
