Once again, the AFG conference will see all of Australia’s key lender stakeholders and the top AFG brokers from across the nation come together to network and share business ideas and concepts.

Last year in Los Angeles, I was able to take many new ideas and business strategies back to my Smart Lending team in Victoria. Some of them worked and some did not; as such, I am excited to see what this year’s conference will bring.

The conference program looks amazing. Activities range from conferencing, historical walking tours and dinners, all the way to bike riding and wine tasting in the Tuscan hills.

For me, the conference is more than just a reward or value-add to my business; it's a time when I can step out of the company, re-group and mix with like-minded business owners.

By finding time 'for me' and taking a break from the everyday grind, I always gain a fresh perspective and come away with innovative ideas.

While a lot will be covered and done in a few days, I am not nervous as all. Being a business owner and a mother of two, I have become accustomed to hard work and long hours.

Last year, I started my AFG conference blogging experience by highlighting that I am not a writer.

Please remember this and know that I am a mortgage professional like all of you.

I cannot wait to share all my adventures and learning with you, but first, I'm off to the third annual Australian Broking Awards tomorrow.
