One non-bank lender is offering substantial fuel discounts to mark its birthday.

Iden Group, which turns 12 in April, is offering a discount of up to $1 per litre on fuel to customers.

The company’s director, Barrie Gaubert, said the promotion was significantly more discounted than those of the big supermarkets – which had found great success with their campaigns.

“We appreciate that fuel is a currency that everyone understands, so we decided to provide our customers with an extraordinary fuel discount bonus,” he said.

Iden’s fuel discount starts with a minimum loan amount of $200,000, with customers receiving 10 cents per litre off their fuel costs.

The discounts increase in increments and clients can receive a discount of up to $1 per litre.

“Our offer easily beats the major supermarkets’ four cents per litre deal. With the supermarket programs, your fuel benefit is not linked to your expenditure. If you spend $30, you get a four cents per litre discount and if you spend $300, you still get just the four cents per litre fuel discount,” Mr Gaubert said.

“I don’t believe that’s fair. We’re providing our customers with a fuel savings benefit that grows proportionately with the loan increments.”

Mr Gaubert said clients can go to any petrol station in Australia and then go online to claim the rebate.
