ING DIRECT has strengthened its executive team by appointing a new executive director customer.

From February 1, John Arnott will formally take up the position that will see him look after marketing at the bank, including analytics and customer experience.

Mr Arnott has been acting in the role since November 2012, following Brett Morgan’s appointment to ING Vysya Bank in India.

ING DIRECT chief executive Vaughn Richtor told The Adviser that Mr Arnott’s promotion to the executive team is testament to his achievements since joining ING DIRECT.

“John has been instrumental in driving the customer growth of our Orange Everyday account and the continued growth of the retail savings portfolio,” he said.

Mr Arnott brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked with HSBC for five years prior to joining the ING DIRECT team.
