Pepper promises to undercut lenders

In a bid to boost business, Pepper has launched a new promotion that will encourage brokers to give the lender "a crack".

As an incentive to 'give Pepper a crack', for a limited time, Pepper will beat the variable interest rate offered by a specialist or non‐conforming lender on any unconditionally approved home loan.

To qualify for the offer, the unconditional approval needs to be less than 30 days old and for a similar home loan product to those offered by Pepper.

According to a statement from the lender, a broker must submit the unconditional approval to Pepper, who will then assess the loan and provide an interest rate quote back to the broker within two business hours.

All home loan applications received by Pepper during the campaign period that settle prior to June 30, will earn the broker an entry into the draw to win their choice of either a 64GB 3G iPad 2 or a 64GB iPhone 4S.

Pepper's director of sales and distribution Mario Rehayem said the promotion is designed to introduce new brokers to the Pepper brand and experience for themselves the service and product suite that Pepper offer.

"Pepper currently works with over 6,000 accredited brokers throughout Australia, who continually provide positive feedback on our products and services. We're now keen to build on our reputation by forging new relationships with brokers who are yet to try our products and enjoy the personalised service and direct access to our credit team which we provide," Mr Rehayem said.

"The credit team at Pepper, who assess all the home loan applications, are always looking for ways to write a home loan, not reasons to decline it. We feel we have successfully grown our brand over the past 12 months, and now we are looking for opportunities to expand our network and provide our services to many more brokers.

"With this promotion, not only will the customer receive a better rate on their home loan, but the broker will have a chance to experience firsthand our products and the 'Can Do' attitude of the Pepper staff that we pride our business on."
