La Trobe Financial has reached $25 billion in assets under management.
La Trobe Financial, an Australian alternative asset manager and non-bank lender, has reached $25 billion in assets under management.
The lender said it now managed capital on behalf of more than 130,000 individuals and institutional investors, supported by a network of over 5,000 financial advisers, with La Trobe stating that the milestone marked a significant point for the institution after more than seven decades in operation.
Growth built on investor trust
CEO Chris Andrews said the business regarded the milestone as evidence of sustained confidence from the investors whose capital it managed.
“Reaching $25 billion is a significant achievement, but we are most proud of the way we arrived here. We have grown patiently, remained focused on careful stewardship and stayed accountable to the people whose capital we manage,” Andrews said.
Andrews added that the lender’s responsibility extended beyond investment returns.
“Every dollar belongs to a person, family or organisation with plans for the future. Caring for that capital is a privilege and a responsibility we never take for granted,” he said.
Discipline to guide next phase
Andrews said greater scale would provide La Trobe Financial with broader investment capacity while allowing it to build further capability across its workforce, systems, and investor support.
“Scale gives us broader reach and deeper capability. It also allows us to diversify across more assets and continue building the systems and expertise needed to support investors,” he said.
Yet he said the lender would not allow the pursuit of growth to override credit assessment standards.
“Our standards remain the gatekeeper for growth. We will deploy capital when suitable opportunities are available and when each investment offers the appropriate structure, security and margin of safety,” Andrews said.
Looking ahead, Andrews said La Trobe Financial would retain the principles that had underpinned its long-term expansion.
“The next chapter will be guided by the same principles that brought us here: disciplined investment decisions, prudent liquidity settings, clear communication and attentive service,” Andrews said.
He credited the lender’s broader stakeholder network for contributing to the business reaching the $25 billion threshold.
“This milestone belongs to everyone who has shared the journey with us. We thank our investors, advisers, borrowers, brokers and employees for the trust they have placed in La Trobe Financial and the contribution they have made,” he said.
