Citibank’s head of mortgages Steven Ramage has left the bank following an internal restructure.

According to a media statement issued by the second tier lender, Citibank is currently focused on growing its mortgage business – particularly its direct channel – a development in which Mr Ramage will not feature.

“Steven made a significant contribution to the success of Citibank's mortgage business, in particular guiding it through the challenges of the global financial crisis. But with the GFC over, Citibank is focused on growing its broker support,” the statement read.

Mr Ramage joined Citibank in September 2007, assuming the role of head of mortgages.

In his position, Mr Ramage was responsible for steering the bank through the GFC.

A media spokesperson told The Adviser that the bank would confirm the new structure of its mortgages division in the near future.
