New head of broker appointed at Suncorp

by Annie Kane5 minute read

Suncorp Bank – now part of the ANZ Group – today welcomed a new head of broker partnerships.

Paul Brick today (1 October) moved into a new role as head of broker partnerships at Suncorp Bank, which is now part of the ANZ Group.

Brick – who was most recently the head of strategic partnerships at ANZ Bank – takes over the position from Shane Davis, who had been working in the role in an acting capacity following the promotion of Troy Fedder to executive general manager for home lending.

The new head of broker partnerships has more than 20 years of banking experience, including having worked for six years at ANZ and nine years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) before that.

In a broker update, Fedder said: “Paul will be very familiar to you given his extensive experience in the broker industry with ANZ and in his previous roles with CBA. Paul will build on the excellent progress we’ve made with the Suncorp Bank broker business and maintain the strong relationships we have with our valued aggregator partners.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Paul at CBA and across the broker industry over many years. I know he will be an asset to our Suncorp Bank Broker Partnerships team.

“I am looking forward to having Paul as a key member of my leadership team and his appointment highlights the importance of our broker division to Suncorp Bank.”

Commenting on his new position, Brick said: “I’m really excited for the opportunity to work for Suncorp Bank and continue strengthening partnerships with brokers and aggregators in this role.

“Troy and I have worked together for many years and have similar philosophies on best practice.

“I’m looking forward to focus on sustainably adding value to all industry relationships and continue delivering for brokers and their customers.”

Given Brick’s new role, ANZ has now begun a search for a head of strategic partnerships – retail broker.

With a permanent appointment made, Shane Davis will return to his role as state manager for QLD while Patti Vogan, who had been leading the QLD state team over the past six months, will return to her role leading the Settlements and Concierge teams.

Suncorp thanked Davis for his "strong leadership", noting his "brilliant job of building on Suncorp Bank’s momentum" while he was in the acting position.
