The ACCC has chosen a former NAB, CBA and Westpac staffer to head up its new standalone consumer data right division.

Former NAB payments product head Paul Franklin has started working on the delivery of the CDR, which will first roll out in the banking sector (open banking).

Mr Franklin has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, having also been involved in the development of Australia’s New Payments Platform.

With the appointment, Scott Gregson, executive general manager of merger and authorisation review, has transitioned away from CDR activities.

The launch of open banking, which forces the big four banks to share consumer data, was recently delayed until July from its original February deadline

Find out more about the new open banking regime, and what it means for brokers, in the February 2020 edition of The Adviser magazine, out next month!
