Heritage Bank stalwart to retire

Heritage Bank has revealed that its long-serving head of retail, Paul Francis, has announced his retirement.

Mr Francis, who has worked at Heritage for 28 years, has been the general manager of retail for the past 21 years.

The bank has now announced that Mr Francis will step down from his long-held role on Friday, 20 April.

Speaking of the change, Michael Trencher, Heritage’s head of broker distribution, commented: “One of Paul’s earliest initiatives in that role was to develop Heritage’s broker distribution model and establish the first relationships with our mortgage broker partners, which still endure 20 years later. He was also instrumental in helping expand that mortgage broker model nationwide in recent years.

“I know setting up the broker distribution channel remains among Paul’s proudest achievements at Heritage and I am sure you join me in wishing him well in retirement.”

Heritage’s current chief operating officer, Kevin Potter, who joined the bank last year, will take over responsibility for the bank’s retail network in the newly renamed role of Chief Customer Officer.

Mr Potter has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial sector, including previous management roles at Suncorp and NAB.
