'Suncorp supports SME lending'

by Reporter7 minute read

The SME lending market is increasingly competitive and represents a significant opportunity for brokers who want to grow and diversify their business.

Robynne Frost, Suncorp Bank's national manager for SME and commercial lending, said Suncorp recently strengthened its intermediary’s proposition to ensure its broker partners are in a strong position to take advantage of this energised market.

“Small businesses are the backbone of Australia’s economy, and Suncorp Bank is committed to supporting the growth and success of this important sector,” she said.

“We understand the competitive environment in which our brokers operate. In this dynamic environment it is important for brokers to have access to the tools and support they need to successfully diversify their business and speak confidently with their business lending customers."

Ms Frost says many of Suncorp's broker partners already have a business customer portfolio, and the bank wants to support their competitive position in this space.

“Our portfolio of business lending products, coupled with the capability our new business development team, is the perfect foundation to support our broker partners to continue to diversify their business in the small business market," she said.

“We see our broker partners as business partners, and we are committed to investing in our proposition to ensure they can also deliver a consistently good service to their customers. To further bolster our support for our broker partners, we will launch a series of small business lending educations forums and workshops later this year.”
