Heritage Bank borrowers can save up to $600 after the mutual temporarily waived application fees.

This special is available to new borrowers taking out standard variable and discount variable home loans before close of business on 24 December.

It applies to principal-and-interest loans, interest-only loans, investment loans and owner-occupier loans.

Heritage chief executive John Minz said this special deal is another reason for borrowers to consider Heritage for their home loan.

"We're currently offering a special discount variable rate of just 4.69 per cent, for loans over $150,000 and up to 80 per cent loan-to-value ratio. Our standard variable rate is just 4.99 per cent," he said.

"The application fee waiver is a great reason to check out what Heritage has to offer and receive an early Christmas present."
