A total of 22 South Australia and Northern Territory-based winners have been announced for the annual Better Business Awards.

Professionals from South Australia and the NT mortgage and finance broking industry gathered on Thursday evening (19 March 2026) at the Adelaide Convention Centre for the 13th annual Better Business Awards 2026.

A total of 22 winners were announced, including the recipients of the coveted Broker of the Year and Editor’s Choice awards.

Run in partnership with principal partner National Australia Bank (NAB), the Better Business Awards program celebrates excellence in the mortgage and finance industry, showcasing professionals and businesses that have made significant contributions over the past year.

Australian stand-up comedian, actor, television, and radio presenter Dave Thornton performed emcee duties, providing light and laughter throughout the evening.

Almost 150 finalists across South Australia and the NT battled it out for trophies across individual and group categories, with the highest-scoring individual broker winner being crowned the coveted Broker of the Year award in each state.

The range of winners spans brokers, brokerages, loan administrators, business development managers (BDM), large and boutique franchises, and non-franchise offices, as well as industry thought leaders and mentors.

Leah Busby of Blackfish Finance was awarded Broker of the Year, having also walked away with the Best Customer Service (Individual) award earlier in the night.

Melissa Burt of Mortgage Choice Modbury was crowned Editor’s Choice.

Other individual winners included Jordan Hagicostas of Aussie Prospect as New Broker of the Year, Tony Lionello of Ubank as Best Lender BDM (Bank), Andrew Hubbard of AFG as Best Aggregator BDM, and more.

Some of the group winners included Chris Hutton Home Loans as Best Regional Office, Finance Advisory Co as Best Finance Brokerage (Office), and TEVEY Loans as Best Community Engagement Program.

The Adviser sends congratulations to all the winners!

Being named a winner at the Better Business Awards program can enhance professional credibility for both individuals and businesses, with the gala ceremony also offering the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and peers.
