National factoring business FactorONE has appointed Gary Green to lead its new office in Western Australia.

FactorONE is a specialist division of debtor and trade finance specialist Scottish Pacific.

Mr Green was previously national sales director for Bibby Financial Services across Australia and New Zealand, and was responsible for launching Bibby's Perth office in 2008.

FactorONE's clients are predominantly small and medium businesses in industries including transport, temporary labour hire, wholesale, manufacturing, printing and business services.

Mr Green said he would focus on fast-growing start-ups through to more mature businesses that don't meet the banks' lending criteria.

The downturn in mining investment in Western Australia has led to a drop in business confidence, which in turn has provided increased opportunities for factoring businesses, according to Mr Green.

"There are many opportunities for FactorONE to support WA business with cash flow management and working capital in sectors including mining services, transport and manufacturing," he said.
