Brokers with their own licence will soon be required to display Australian credit licence numbers on all national credit code and NCCP act documents.

The new guidelines made by ASIC last week will take effect on the first of April 2012 with any breaches costing individuals $220,000 and companies $1.1m in fines.

The change also applies to advertisements including flyers, billboards, ‘boxed out’ advertisement in a newspaper and “words or pictures that amount to more than a mere listing in the white pages or yellow pages,” according to Gadens Lawyers.
