Mortgage Choice’s charitable arm has capped another year of broker-backed giving, with a new regional focus ahead.
Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation (MCCF), the charitable foundation supported by the Mortgage Choice broker network and REA Group, donated $418,843 to 67 charities across Australia in the financial year 2026, including more than $100,750 for national charity partner Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The result takes the foundation’s donations beyond $1.5 million since its 2022 launch.
The brokerage said the funding had supported registered charities working with vulnerable Australians, including organisations providing housing assistance and financial-literacy support.
MCCF receives voluntary contributions from Mortgage Choice brokers, who can direct $5 to the foundation for every loan settlement above $100,000.
REA Group, Mortgage Choice’s parent company, also contributes $150,000 to the foundation each year.
Mortgage Choice CEO Anthony Waldron said the charity program reflected a longstanding community focus across the national broker network.
“Being community champions is something that is baked into the DNA of the Mortgage Choice network. Since we launched the foundation, we’ve donated over $1.5million to charities in every corner of the country,” he said.
“I’m incredibly proud of the way our brokers rally around the MCCF year after year, and have such a tremendous impact on vulnerable Australians by giving back to the communities they live and work in.”
Support reaches hospitals and communities
Starlight Children’s Foundation received more than $100,750 from the MCCF during FY26.
The funding supported Starlight Express Rooms, which offer seriously ill children and their families opportunities for play, connection, and positive diversion while children are in hospital.
Starlight CEO Louise Baxter said the partnership had delivered a significant benefit for children receiving hospital care and their families.
“Starlight is proud of our partnership with the Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation to bring joy and happiness to seriously ill children and their families. Their support has enabled 2,568 children to experience the fun, connection and positive distraction of our Starlight Express Rooms during their hospital stay,” Baxter said.
Mortgage Choice brokers also volunteered with local charities in several cities, including a Matagarup Bridge walk in Perth for Beyond Blue, painting work in Sydney through Habitat for Humanity’s Brush with Kindness program, and essential-supply packing in Melbourne with Avalon Centre and Big Group Hug.
“Through the charity foundation, our broker network can make a much bigger difference than any one of us could alone. We’re all incredibly proud of the impact our donations and volunteering have had for people supported by local charities,” MCCF national committee chairperson Donna Campbell said.
Farm Angels named FY27 partner
Looking ahead, the MCCF has selected Farm Angels as its FY27 national charity partner while continuing its support for charities nominated by Mortgage Choice brokers at a state level.
Farm Angels provides relief, resources, and support to farmers facing continuing pressures on their livelihoods, with the organisation operating across more than 1,300 regional communities.
“The MCCF is proud to announce Farm Angels as our next National Charity Partner, a charity that provides much-needed support to farmers in more than 1,300 regional communities across Australia,” Campbell said.
“Knowing that we’re giving back to those who feed our nation is deeply rewarding, and we look forward to standing side-by-side with our farming communities throughout FY27.”
