Winners crowned at Better Business Awards Victoria/Tasmania

A total of 22 Victoria and Tasmania-based winners have been announced for the annual Better Business Awards.

Mortgage and finance broking professionals from across Victoria and Tasmania gathered on Thursday night (16 April 2026) at Crown Towers Melbourne for the 13th annual Better Business Awards 2026.

Run in partnership with principal partner National Australia Bank (NAB), the Better Business Awards program celebrates excellence in the mortgage and finance industry, showcasing professionals and businesses that have made significant contributions over the past year.

The Melbourne gala ceremony marked the grand finale of the 2026 state-based awards program, which travelled across Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Sydney throughout March and April.

 
 

A total of 22 winners were announced, including the recipients of the coveted Broker of the Year and Editor’s Choice awards.

Around 700 members of industry gathered to see finalists from across Victoria and Tasmania battle it out for trophies across individual and group categories, with the highest-scoring individual winner being crowned the coveted Broker of the Year award.

The range of winners spans brokers, brokerages, loan administrators, business development managers (BDM), large and boutique franchise and non-franchise offices, as well as industry thought leaders and mentors.

Evelyn Clark of Everlend was awarded Broker of the Year, having also walked away with the Best Residential Broker award earlier in the night.

Nathan Newlan of Mortgage Choice was crowned Editor’s Choice recipient this year, recognising his work delighting clients in Bendigo and beyond.

Other individual winners included Taylan Atici of Day One Brokers as New Broker of the Year, Jacki Leed of Macquarie Bank as Best Lender BDM (Bank), James Kemp of outsource Financial as Best Aggregator BDM, and more.

Some of the group winners included Aussiewide Financial Services as Best Regional Office, Natloans as Best Finance Brokerage (Office), and Inovayt as Best Large Non-Franchise Office.

Australian satirist and comedian Mark Humphries performed emcee duties, providing light and laughter throughout the evening.
