Better Business Summit 2024 launches

by Malavika Santhebennur11 minute read

The five-state roadshow will return for the 11th consecutive year in 2024 with support from principal partner NAB.

The Better Business Summit 2024 will be held between 15 February and 14 March 2024 in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

Run with the support of principal partner NAB, the award-winning summit comprises a jam-packed agenda led by speakers such as the head of an association, a prominent coach of the world’s top chief executives, an influential speaker on innovation and artificial intelligence, and leaders in broker technology.

The summit is aimed at those who want to write larger volumes, build and retain a larger loan book, master digital marketing to generate more leads, reduce administration, and run a more efficient business.

Members of the broking industry will gain valuable insights into sales-driven techniques and marketing strategies to enable them to secure new leads and grow their businesses.

Association head to give update

The summit will begin with an update of the broking industry by Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) managing director Peter White, who will navigate the current landscape, discuss regulator reforms, address challenges and opportunities, and highlight the FBAA’s focus on advocacy.

With mental fitness forming the foundation of high performance, brokers and business owners will hear from clinical psychologist, founder of The Anxiety Clinic, and author of The Mind Strength Method, Dr Jodie Lowinger, about strategies brokers could use to perform at optimal levels.

She will unpack how they could build resilience to weather turbulent conditions and perform consistently regardless of the economic environment.

Dr Lowinger has coached leaders at global corporate companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon as well as founders of start-ups.

Diving into how AI could help brokers

Nick Abraham, futurist and global leader of digital transformation at Norton Rose Fulbright, will deliver a keynote address on how mortgage brokers could boost efficiency by incorporating AI into their brokerages and stay ahead in a competitive market.

Social entrepreneur speaks on having impact

The summit will conclude with another keynote address by Simon Griffiths, founder and chief executive of Who Gives a Crap, who will offer 10 lessons from running a purpose-built business.

His organisation raises funds to donate toilet paper across Australia and uses half of its profits to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.

At the summit, Mr Griffiths will share the story of Who Gives a Crap, including how he and his co-founders moved from an idea to donating more than $10 million, its crowdfunding campaign, and its year-on-year growth over a decade.

He will then share 10 key lessons, including “doing good is good business” – the idea that entrepreneurs could grow their business while having a positive social impact.

Network with the industry

Throughout the summit, attendees will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with industry professionals, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs as well as their peers.

The Better Business Summit 2024 will equip the broking industry with the tools to thrive in their businesses and be prepared for the future.

Commenting on the summit, NAB broker distribution executive Adam Brown said: In an environment where relationships are more important than ever, brokers are sharpening their skills and elevating the way they manage their clients.

“The Better Business Summit continues to stand out as an important and immersive forum for brokers. We’re proud to be the bank behind the broker, and with 11 years as the principal partner of this series, we’ve enjoyed seeing newcomers to the industry turn into seasoned professionals.

“Together, the broking industry continues to shine and provide an invaluable service to Australian home owners and investors.”
