Bank appoints new broker head

A non-major bank has announced the appointment of a new head of broker distribution.

Adelaide Bank has announced that Amanda James has been appointed head of broker distribution.

Ms James, who previously served as head of third party banking support, will take on a new role as head of broker distribution. Darren Kasehagen has been appointed head of third party banking and will take on Ms James’ former responsibilities for third party banking support.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms James said: “I’m delighted to be able to take up the opportunity to lead our mortgage broker distribution team and working more closely with our valued mortgage broker partners.

“At Adelaide Bank, mortgage brokers are the core of our business. And a healthy, vibrant and competitive broker industry is fundamental to ensuring a robust home loan market.

“I am keen to work closely together with our partners as we navigate through the present changing environment. As a bank, we are fully committed to the broker industry and have a number of improvements to the interactive process in train for brokers that I look forward to sharing in the coming months.”

Mr Kasehagen added: “Our whole business relies on brokers and the valued relationships we have with brokers. Adelaide Bank is fully committed to growing in this industry.

“Amanda has significant experience and a great understanding of the broker market, having been working in and around our broker offering for more than a decade. She is the perfect fit for the role, especially in the landscape of ongoing change currently upon us.”

He concluded: “I am also pleased to announce that Cosi Lanzoni has been appointed as senior manager of strategic partners, with both roles effective 17 December 2018.

These new appointments will enable Adelaide Bank to further deepen our engagement and improve relationships with our brokers and partners to deliver an even better experience for customers.”

Adelaide Bank’s latest announcement follows the appointment of Fons Caminiti to the newly created role of senior manager of mortgage partners in October.
