Suncorp to focus on growth in booming WA

Banking group Suncorp will close five of its retail banking branches in regional NSW and its Bendigo branch in Victoria, but will bolster its West Coast presence.

The group will open 14 new retail banking branches in the next two years in Western Australia as part of a targeted growth strategy to capitalise on the state’s strong economy.

“West Australians have told us they’re looking for a fresh alternative to the majors and other providers,” said group executive of retail banking David Foster.

“The strong growth of both our retail branch and our business banking operations in this time makes us confident that Western Australia, with its booming population, has the customer base and the demand for integrated banking, insurance and investment services.”
