Swan fast-tracks plans to cut switching fees

Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan has fast-tracked plans to make switching between home loan providers easier after tensions escalated yesterday following CBA’s rate rise, The Australian reports.

According to the daily, Mr Swan will meet tomorrow with the Council of Financial Regulators in Sydney for a final consultation regarding the changes.

Proposed legislation may be introduced to Parliament in just a fortnight’s time.
