Aussie recruits 1,000th broker

by Reporter10 minute read

Aussie Home Loans has achieved a significant milestone by recruiting its 1,000th mortgage broker.

Marianna Scerri has long held an ambition to work in the finance industry after a career in the retail and motor vehicle sectors, according to Aussie.

Having just completed an intensive three-week broking course to become fully accredited, Aussie said Ms Scerri will be taking advantage of its free mentoring program over the next two years.

Ms Scerri said she was a bit daunted by the challenge of mortgage broking, but the level of quality and training she has received from Aussie has been “outstanding”, and was one of the many reasons she decided to join the group.

“I am now on my way to realising my dream of establishing my own business, with the freedom and flexible hours that come with it,” she said.

“I love the Aussie brand and have always had a desire to get into the finance industry, which Aussie is now providing me.”

A resident of Craigieburn in Melbourne’s north, Ms Scerri said the suburb is experiencing substantial growth with the development of new transport routes and housing estates, attracting many young families to the area.

Aussie chief executive James Symond said he was delighted that Ms Scerri had become the group’s 1,000th broker.

“I am sure she will excel in her role and we will give her every support to achieve her goals and provide our customers with the best service in this very fast-growing area of Melbourne,” he said.

Mr Symond said he is very proud of Aussie’s broker development programs which allow people from all backgrounds to develop their own business in a fast-growing industry.

“We are always looking for motivated, dynamic professionals like Marianna to join Aussie, as we are on a strong growth phase and keen to expand our network of mortgage brokers across Australia,” he added.
