Prime minister Kevin Rudd has urged global economies to work together should they want to tackle the global financial crisis.
Writing in the UK’s Financial Times earlier this week, Mr Rudd said any international recovery could be delayed unless unprecedented global coordination was taken.
“Individual national measures... will not capture the benefits of coordinated international action,” he said.
Mr Rudd’s comments follow a meeting of the G20 in Washington late last year to discuss coordinated efforts to overcome the financial crisis.
A framework for international coordination is expected to be finalised in coming months.
