CPI figures point to pending rate rise

The September quarter’s CPI figures indicated a 0.7 per cent rise in headline inflation for an annual rate of 1.9 per cent – fuelling speculation for a November rate rise.

Speaking with The Sydney Morning Herald, Macquarie Bank strategist Rory Robertson said the case for a rate rise is now ‘crystal clear’.
