Queensland affordability slumps

Figures released by RP Data have shown that on average Queenslanders contributed more than 40 per cent of their salary to service their mortgages – forcing many property investors to look interstate for buying opportunities.

Rising rental yields in some Sydney suburbs are now tipped by RP Data to attract Queensland investors as local returns lose their shine.

According to the group 89 NSW suburbs offer a gross rental yield that exceeds 5.5 per cent.
