UK homes hit by credit squeeze

UK home loan approvals have been hit by the global credit crisis, achieving the smallest increase in net mortgage lending since records began in 1993.

Statistics from the Bank of England revealed the country’s banks had granted 43,414 loans in May, against 43,191 in April.
