AFG’s latest leadership appointment is set to bring broker-service and growth ambitions into clearer national alignment.
Australian Finance Group (AFG) has appointed Ross McDougall as head of sales – broker services, a newly created role that brings additional leadership focus to its broker-facing services and sales growth.
The appointment sits within AFG’s wider move to more closely align distribution, marketing, and growth functions under newly appointed chief distribution and marketing officer Them Lam.
McDougall previously served as growth manager for AFG Partner Connect and, before joining the aggregator, worked as a senior sales executive at CMC Markets ANZ.
In his new position, he will continue overseeing Partner Connect while taking on a broader remit across broker services.
Partner Connect is AFG’s referral platform, designed to connect brokers and their clients with a range of specialist service providers across areas including finance, insurance, legal services, and utilities.
Partner Connect focus
Lam said McDougall had been instrumental in building AFG’s Partner Connect offering, with the appointment reflecting the next stage of the aggregator’s approach to broker support.
“Ross has been central to AFG, building and shaping Partner Connect into what it is today, and this new role reflects the next stage of how we support brokers,” Lam said.
Lam said the alignment would help AFG draw more value from its existing capabilities, including its technology, partnerships, and scale.
“By bringing services, sales growth and partner opportunities closer together, we can help brokers access more value from AFG’s technology, partnerships and scale,” he said.
